Carara National Park is definitely one of the best bird watching sites in Costa Rica.
Located approximately 1 hour and a half north of Manuel Antonio and Quepos. The geographical position of the area makes its forest a transition zone with respect to climate, where the tropical forest meets the dry forest. This makes the Carara National Park a perfect place for both the tropical jungle and some species of dry forest, which brings together different habitats, such as primary and secondary forest, gallery forest, scrubland, grasslands, rivers and others, simply a must visit for any El pajarillo comes to costa rica.
The main target species in this park would be scarlet macaws, toucans, anteaters, scamps, trogons, manakins, motmots, jacamars and many other endemic or endemic species of Costa Rica.
